Ns News Online Desk: An Amtrak train carrying more than 70 passengers collided with an 18-wheeler on Friday outside of Houston, officials said.
No one was hurt in the early afternoon crash, but it did snarl traffic for roughly two hours, according to KPRC-TV.
The train had been traveling through Missouri City, Texas, on its way to New Orleans when it came upon the big rig at an intersection along Highway 90. Officials said the truck had been up on the tracks when it was struck.
The accident wound up sending debris all over the roadway after the train — which was carrying 71 passengers — nearly ripped the semi’s entire trailer in half. The locomotive did not suffer any damage, though, and was back on its journey within hours.
