I want to make everyone smile!

Ns News Online Desk:Ns News Online Desk: Nice to meet you, I’m Mie Prefecture’s representative Miku Matsumura. The title for this column is “Miku became an idol.” I was just an average first-year high school student, so I’ll write down everything I felt after becoming an idol.

This time, I’m going to introduce myself, and also share the whole story about how I became an idol.

I auditioned for Team8 because I wanted to change myself. I get anxious when I’m around strangers, so interacting with people isn’t my speciality. There were days when I couldn’t even go to school and I hated myself for making my parents and those around me worry.

That’s when I found out about the Team8 auditions. I’ve always loved AKB groups, so I thought, “This is the only way to change myself,” and applied. I didn’t even tell my parents.

I didn’t think it would happen, but I passed the auditions! My paperwork was approved, and when I told my mom that I was going to Tokyo for another audition, she was surprised, but she was so happy for me and we cried together. It made me think that I can keep going.

I’m a beginner when it comes to singing and dancing, and I’m not a comedic person, but my goal is to be an idol who can make people smile. Team8 has a lot of events and I look forward to meeting all of the fans. And of course, I plan to promote my beloved Mie Prefecture as much as I can.
