Pride of Bangladesh Padma Bridge awaits colorful inauguration after few hours.

A red-green light in the form of the national flag will be lit across the bridge. The inauguration ceremony of the bridge was also attended by Munshiganj on the one hand and Shariatpur-Madaripur district administration on the other. The Dhaka Divisional Administration will coordinate all the events and arrangements related to the inauguration and the arrival of the Prime Minister. The government has also decided to celebrate the inaugural event all over the country simultaneously. The cabinet also directed the deputy commissioners of 64 districts to take necessary steps.

On Saturday, June 25, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the bridge from the Mawa end of Munshiganj and take part in the rally. She will then cross the bridge by car and unveil another inaugural plaque at the Jajira end of Shariatpur. Later, she will address a public meeting at Kanthalbari in Shibchar upazila of Madaripur. For this, security has been strengthened in the entire bridge area.

The government and the ruling party Awami League are going to organize a colorful program around the inauguration. The main event of the government will be on both banks of the Padma.

Meanwhile, the bridge department has decided to place two murals in place of the bridge. One will be made in the portrait of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the other in the portrait of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The opening plaque is being constructed next to it.

The Ministry of Bridges has completed the preparations for the event. 17 sub-committees have been formed from the ministry. Members of the cabinet, members of parliament, chiefs of the three forces, leaders of different political parties, prominent people of the society and diplomats of different missions in Dhaka have been invited to the event.

Meanwhile, Special Security Force (SSF) officials deployed to protect the Prime Minister have visited the project area.

Speaking at a press conference earlier this month, Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam said the inauguration of the Padma Bridge would be a grand one. The main inaugural program will also be shown in 64 districts.
