Turkish President Erdoğan files lawsuit against main opposition leader

nsnewsNSNEWS ONLINE DESK: President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan filed a lawsuit on Friday against the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP) leader, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, for insulting him during a speech made on Jan. 5 in Istanbul.

Erdoğan’s lawyer Hüseyin Aydın filed a 150,000 Turkish lira ($40,000) lawsuit on behalf of his client against Kılıçdaroğlu for “mental anguish” and accused the opposition leader of “insulting the president” in the speech made in front of the Besiktaş Municipality in Istanbul on Jan. 5.
