Ns News Online desk: Former President Bill Clinton was released from a California hospital on Sunday after undergoing treatment for a urological infection unrelated to COVID-19.
“His fever and white blood cell count are normalized and he will return home to New York to finish his course of antibiotics,” Dr. Alpesh N. Amin said in a statement forwarded by Clinton spokesman Angel Ureña.
Clinton, 75, was admitted to the University of California at Irvine Medical Center last Tuesday and was treated with antibiotics, Ureña said in an update Saturday.
“He is in great spirits and has been spending time with family, catching up with friends, and watching college football,” Ureña said in a Twitter posting, adding that Clinton made “excellent progress” in the past 24 hours.
“He is deeply grateful for the excellent care he continues to receive and thankful for the many well-wishers who have sent kind words to him and his family. He’s looking forward to getting home very soon,” the statement said.
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and daughter Chelsea Clinton visited on Saturday morning, arriving in an SUV with a phalanx of Secret Service agents. President Biden said Clinton was doing fine. “He’s not in any serious condition,” the president said Friday at a University of Connecticut event.
