US-Long Island firehouse ‘pretty much destroyed’ in Christmas morning fire
Ns News Online Desk: US- A Long Island firehouse was “pretty much destroyed” after going up in flames Christmas morning, leaving two engines and a truck charred hulks, Nassau County police said. A passing state trooper noticed the blaze at the North Massapequa fire headquarters at 1000 N. Broadway just after 6 a.m. and called it in, according to News12.
Officers found the unoccupied firehouse “fully engulfed in flames,” a police spokesman told. The whole building is “pretty much destroyed — or at least severely damaged,” he said.Firefighters managed to pull an ambulance from the flames, but not before it was damaged, WABC reported.
No injuries were reported and the fire has been extinguished, the spokesman said. About 120 firefighters responded to the conflagration, News12 reported. The police spokesman said. Arson investigators are at the scene.
