WA residents in NSW face tougher return home after new border restrictions
Ns News Online Desk: West Australian residents in New South Wales are facing a tougher return home after the WA Government introduced stricter eligibility requirements for exempt travelers.
WA will limit entry for people trying to enter the state on compassionate grounds, a government spokesperson said.
It follows new health advice from WA Chief Medical Officer Andrew Robertson.Under the previous border regulations, exempt travelers were allowed to enter WA from NSW, including people on compassionate grounds.
But the state government said travelers would now need to show “extenuating circumstances” to enter WA.
For returning WA residents, it means there is no guaranteed right of entry.
