Would-be attacker stabbed multiple times after wild, caught-on-camera ambush of NYC couple walking their dog

The tables turned quickly, and the couple began beating the man who pounced on them.

A man’s planned ambush of a couple walking down a Queens street backfired Wednesday when the pair turned the attack around, leaving him with multiple stab wounds, police said.

The 37-year-old assailant crept up behind the duo as they strolled with a young dog near 49th and Broadway in Wood side around 2:45 p.m., according to the NYPD.

Surveillance footage shows the suspect tossing his coat on the ground before pouncing on the other man, who, due to a foot injury, was riding a scooter alongside the woman holding the pup.

The element of surprise did not work in the assailant’s favor, however, and he soon found himself in a headlock, the video shows.

The supposed victim — wearing a medical boot on his right foot — tossed his attacker on the ground and began pounding him with blows, a mission the woman quickly joined in on.

The attacker desperately tried to escape, but the couple continued pummeling their would-be assailant, dragging the dog along as they pushed and kicked the man.

The trio finally separated, but continued shouting at one another, seemingly ready to jump back into fisticuffs.

The victim backed up several paces toward the security camera, showing a shocking, bloody wound near the crown of his head.

That’s when several bystanders — who appeared unbothered during the tussle — stepped in between the couple and the man.

The initial attacker was taken to Elmhurst Hospital with multiple stab wounds, the NYPD said. He is in stable condition.

No arrests have been made in the case, but sources said cops are looking for two perpetrators.
