Zelenskyy thanks Sheikh Hasina for supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, particularly within the UN. Zelenskyy also emphasized the importance of Bangladesh’s support for Ukrainian initiatives, according to a news published on the Ukrainian President’s website on Saturday.

The Ukrainian President expressed his gratitude to the Bangladesh Prime Minister during a meeting in Munich, Germany.

Zelenskyy told Sheikh Hasina about Ukraine’s fight against Russian aggression, the situation on the battlefield and the

Ukrainian vision of a just peace based on the Ukrainian Peace Formula. Zelenskyy also invited Sheikh Hasina to join the implementation of the Formula and take part in the inaugural Global Peace Summit.

Separately, Zelenskyy informed his interlocutor about Ukraine’s efforts to create an alternative “grain corridor” in the Black Sea and prevent Russia’s attempts to undermine peaceful navigation in the Black Sea region.

The President of Ukraine and the Prime Minister of Bangladesh also discussed the prospects of establishing cooperation in trade and economic sphere, in particular, the supply of Ukrainian agricultural products to this country.

Meanwhile Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has called upon the global leaders to stop genocide in Gaza.

“Bangladesh has always stood against genocide. What is happening in Gaza, I feel it is a genocide. So we never support it,” she said in an interview with Turkey’s state-run Anadolu Agency on the sidelines of Munich Security Conference 2024 on Saturday. She also said the Palestinian people have the rights to live and have their own state.
