Sir Keir Starmer is on course to reduce the Tories to their worst ever election result
Labour is on course to win the most seats in its history, a major new poll suggests. Sir Keir Starmer will beat Tony Blair’s 1997 historic victory and reduce the Tories to their worst ever election result, according to the YouGov MRP poll released on Monday afternoon.
It puts Labour on 422 seats to the Tories’ 140, a majority of 194.
This would also be a 220-seat gain for Sir Keir’s party compared to the 2019 election and a 225-seat loss for Rishi Sunak’s party.
The large-scale polling of nearly 60,000 people, carried out between May 24 and June 1, predicts that the Lib Dems would win 48 seats, a gain of 37, and Reform on none.
Among the Conservative Cabinet ministers forecast to likely lose their seats in the poll are Grant Shapps, Penny Mordaunt and Mark Harper.
