Gunman arrested at Trump golf club after shootout with cops

Ns News Online DeskNs News Online Desk: Miami police shot a man early Friday after he barged into the Trump National Doral Golf Club, shouted about the president, draped a US flag over a lobby counter and opened fire, according to reports.

The unidentified man was taken to a local hospital after the wild incident, which left a police officer with an unspecified injury, officials said.

Police were alerted of an “active shooter” in the Trump-owned club about 1:30 a.m., Doral Police Chief Hernan Organvidez told reporters.

He said cops from Doral and Miami-Dade immediately confronted and exchanged gunfire with the shooter, who was “neutralized” and taken into custody.

Miami-Dade Police Director Juan Perez said the man was shouting about Trump — who was not at the club — and “actively shooting.”

“He was yelling and spewing some information about President Trump and that’s what we know so far. And he had an American flag that he did drape over the counter,” Perez said.

“We are not saying this is terrorism, but we are not discounting anything at this point,” Perez said, adding it was unclear what had motivated the man.

He said the Secret Service was on the scene, and that the FBI was on the way — but that local police were in charge for the time being.

“You know, these officers did not hesitate one second to engage this individual that was actively shooting in the lobby of the hotel,” he said.

“They risked their lives knowing that they had to get in there to save lives in that hotel.”

The resort previously known as the Doral Resort & Spa was purchased by the Trump Organization in 2012. Its signature course is the Blue Monster at Doral.
