Up to 5 inches of snow, teeth-chattering cold forecast for NYC, with more storms to follow
The Big Apple could get up to 5 inches of snow overnight Sunday and as many as 8 inches in the suburbs, leading to treacherous road conditions leading into Super Bowl Sunday as more snow storms are expected to barrel through later in the week.
The powerful snowstorm blowing in from the Midwest could dump almost half a foot of snow throughout the five boroughs and New Jersey beginning late Saturday night into Sunday morning, with teeth-chattering lows in the upper 20s, according to FOX Weather Meteorologist Stephen McCloud.
Further north, in White Plains and the Hudson Valley, locals could wake up to a whopping 8 inches of powder, while Boston is expected to get buried in nearly double that.
Sunny skies with highs in around 40 degrees are expected by midday in the city, but the roads and sidewalks could be “slick” later in the evening as people head out to bars and parties to watch the Big Game, McCloud warned.
“If there’s anything left Sunday night coming into Monday, it could refreeze,” McCloud told The Post.
“It’s not going to be nice at all.”
